课程的教学目的与任务

大学英语4的教学目的是培养学生具备综合应用英语的能力,培养学生具有较强的阅读能力和一定的听、说、写、译能力,使他们能用英语交流信息。大学英语教学应帮助学生打下扎实的语言基础,掌握良好的语言学习方法,提高文化素养,以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。

课程的基本要求

根据因材施教、突出个性发展的教学规律,并参照教育部委托大学英语研究会与课程指导委员会制定的《大学英语课程教学要求》(以下简称《课程要求》),我校大学英语课程实行英语教学,使大多数学生能够达到基本要求,并使一部分学生能够达到较高要求和更高要求。

(1)听力理解能力:能够基本听懂来自英语国家人士的谈话和讲座,能听懂题材熟悉、 篇幅较长的国内英语广播。能基本听懂外国专家用英语讲授的课程,掌握其中心大意,抓住要点。

(2)口语表达能力:能够和来自英语国家人士进行比较流利的会话,能基本表达个人意见、情感、观点等,能基本陈述事实、事件、理由,表达思想清楚。

(3)阅读理解能力:能基本阅读英语国家报刊杂志的大众性、一般性题材的文章,理解其主要意义。能略读新闻、人物、事件等报道的主要内容,抓住其要点,能跳读有关材料,快速查找所需信息。能借助词典读懂与专业相关的技术性论文,从中查找所需信息。

(4)书面表达能力:能就所读一般主题的文章写出其摘要或大纲,能阐述自己对某一焦点问题的观点,并能基本陈述赞成或反对的理由。能写出日常的应用文章,结构与表达符合应用文体规范。

(5)翻译能力:能借助词典翻译一般英美报刊上题材熟悉的文章,作到基本准确地传达原文的意思。能将与专业相关的英语资料摘译为中文,译文符合中文表达习惯。能将与专业相关的中文报告、论文等译为英文,译文基本符合英文表达习惯。

(6)词汇量要求:学生掌握的总词汇量应达到4500个单词和700个词组,其中2000个单词为积极词汇,达到能确切运用。
